Double knot those shoes, bring your family, friends, or local running group for a fantastic evening race while taking in the beautiful views that Pike Lake has to offer. Be sure to stay for the cool down afterwords! We'll provide you with fun, family friendly post race activities for participants of all ages--sure to knock your shoes off!

Bring your little for our FREE 1/4 mile kids' run. The run starts and finishes in the Canosia Township Recreation area near the start of the Pike Lake 10K. The 1/4 Mile Kids' Run is designed for kids under 7. All participants in the 1/4 mile kids' run receive a dilly bar courtesy of Pike Lake Dairy Queen. Registration is available here and at the race site packet pick up in the Canosia Township Firehall. The 1/4 mile kids' run starts at 5:30pm. Start location is: Canosia Recreation Area, 5682 Martin Rd, Duluth, MN 55811.

Lace up your sneakers, stretch out those legs, and get ready to toe the line for this picturesque 10k run around Pike Lake just outside Duluth, MN on May 19th. Athletes will at start at 6 p.m. by the Pike Lake golf course on Midway Rd.

This local 10K is produced by Duluth Running Co., the creators of the Gobble Gallop, and the Superior Man Triathlon among other professionally produced events. Participants will get a great on course experience with 3 aid stations that will include water, gatorade, and fruit.


The 10K (6.2 Miles) route has a little of everything: Country roads, lake views, rolling hills, flat sections, and a solid and fast descent in the last mile. Participants start on Midway Road near the Pike Lake Golf Course and proceed around Pike Lake in a counter clockwise fashion. Click here to see the course map! Enjoy a fast mostly downhill last mile that finishes up near sandy Pike Lake beach. Upon finishing, each athlete will receive an official chip time, post race food, and music.

All participants receive a soft cotton tee shirt. Upon finishing we’ll have an awesome finisher’s festival with food, drinks, games, and camaraderie. The finisher festival will be in the Canosia Township Recreation Area. The top two finishers in each age group will receive custom made awards.

Course Highlights

This inaugural event starts and finishes near the Pike Lake Golf Course. The course goes around Pike Lake in a counter clockwise direction following rural tree lined roads on the outskirts of Duluth.

Course Features
Cast Iron Hill

Start along Midway Road near the Pike Lake Golf Course. Athletes will head north towards North Pike Lake Road. The upper side of Midway Road be will closed to traffic for runners with plenty of room to spread out.

Keeping the lake on your left, the vast majority of the race is along scenic, quiet, tree lined roads with minimal traffic.

Don't let this image fool you. This is a long and challenging hill next to the Cast Iron Restaurant. Do you have what it takes to defeat this hill?

The final mile is fun, fast, and slightly downhill, taking you right into the finish area next to Pike Lake.
